What is a Rebate?
Rebates are dollars paid to encourage energy users to become more efficient and use less energy.

Why would a utility company want me to use less energy?
By reducing energy use, the utility company can keep their existing infrastructure without the large capital expense of adding more power plants and transmission lines.

How are Rebates funded?
Rebates are funded from the “Societal Benefits” charge you pay monthly on your utility bill. Rebates are paid from that pool until they are used up and are no longer available. Act quickly!
