3. What Benefits can I expect to see by improving my energy effectiveness?
- Increase Profitability – Energy efficient products improve your profits because of every item listed below and then some.
- Improve Equipment Reliability – Energy efficient equipment, by its very design, is usually more reliable. Typically higher quality materials are used, systems are engineered better, and companies that install equipment for its higher efficiency tend to properly take care of their equipment. Plus, new energy efficient products come with new warranties.
- Increase Employee Productivity – Employees work better when they are happy and comfortable. Your control of temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting directly affects how they feel. Energy efficiency projects almost always improve these areas and therefore productivity typically increases after you improve them.

- Improve Accuracy – As above, your accuracy will improve the same as employee productivity. Plus, by providing better light quality (not just quantity) your eyes are able to work more effectively.
- Increase Safety – There are numerous factors to consider depending upon what technologies are upgraded. One of the technologies that provide the fastest safety improvement is the removal of Metal Halide lighting system that often leave huge amounts of space in darkness during a power fluctuation. These same lamps also tend to cause blind spots when looked at which may lead to further accidents.
- Increase Building Valuation – Many commercial buildings are valued as a multiplier (often 10) of their earnings. Therefore, simply by decreasing the utility costs of a building by $50,000 will therefore increase the value of that building by $500,000! This is something that you might want to think about before you plan to sell or go for additional financing.
- Improve Indoor Air Quality – By providing better temperature and humidity control not only do you make your facility more comfortable but you also decrease the likelihood of mold, and all its related problems, from occurring. We also have the ability to remove many types of odors (such as beauty shop hairspray) and many airborne diseases (think hospitals, schools, churches, bus stations, etc.).
- Improve Occupancy Comfort - Your temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting directly affect your comfort. Energy efficiency projects almost always improve these areas and therefore productivity should increase after you improve the quality of these items.
- Improve Employee Morale – It stands to reason that as your comfort and productivity improve so does your company morale. Other things being equal (we can’t account for bad management) people always prefer working in a healthier environment. This may also may a difference when recruiting for new personnel since studies have shown that a work environment is a significant factor people consider when taking a new position.
- Increase Cash Flow – Increased Cash flow comes from many sources such as lower utility bills, lower operating costs, and less capital expenditures needed. Plus, there are less measurable, but potentially greater, sources of cash flow such as increased productivity, less employee turnover, less recruiting and therefore less management required. The values of energy management just keep getting better.
- Decreased need for capital – Because you can fund energy conservation projects out of the savings in your operating costs you may be able to eliminate the need for large amounts of capital investments. We even offer energy efficient roofing that can be financed from your operating savings!

- Increase Shareholder Wealth - Shareholder wealth is always improved. For publicly traded companies decreases in operating costs will have a Price/Earnings ratio of added value. A well run company with better assets is always worth more.
- Decrease Utility Costs – Your utility bills go down… sometimes very substantially.
- Decrease Operating Expenses – Utility bills go down, maintenance bills go down, recruiting costs go down, and related management costs go down.
- Decrease Systems Failures – Better equipment lasts longer and breaks down less. Many computer crashes are actually a sympton of poor power quality.
- Lower Maintenance Costs - Better equipment lasts longer and breaks down less. (Did we just say that? Well, it bears repeating.)
- Decrease Accident Liability – Providing better lighting and employee comfort decrease the likelihood of accidents which therefore decreases your liability.
- Decrease Reoccurring Costs – Once you remove energy waste from your system it can never come back. Why pay every month for electricity or gas that you are just wasting? After you upgrade your system and permanently remove this waste you permanently remove these monthly costs.
- Decrease Dependence on Foreign Oil – By doing the right thing and effectively using energy efficient products you are decreasing the United States's need for energy. We don’t need to import as much, we don’t need to drill in our parks as much and we don’t need to pollute as much. We’ve shown you how profitable it is to use energy wisely. This is just another benefit to us all.
- Decrease Harmful Pollutants – Using less energy means creating less energy which means less pollution created.
- Better Business Performance – If you made it this far we hope we have clearly demonstrated how using energy more effectively will create Better Business Performance for you.
