1. What should I learn during a typical first meeting?

The goal of our first meeting is to learn what is reasonable for you to accomplish. Both of us would love to quickly increase your profits by tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. (Are we together so far?) If so hopefully you’ll immediately want to implement our suggestions. On the other hand, we may discover that you have already done a phenomenal job of taking your energy infra-structure into the 21st century. Well in that case congratulations, you are ahead of at least 98% of the businesses out there. Luckily for us the second scenario rarely happens.

Later we can investigate any issues we identify. We will learn during our first meeting the scope of any audits that might be needed as well as what other information would help complete our goals. Two things that you can provide to really add value to this meeting are a copy of at least one summer and winter utility bill as well as a copy of your site plan(even a quick layout helps us).

For whatever reason most companies don’t pay much attention to energy. They’re too busy running their own business. Besides energy isn’t that important or “sexy”. If it was you would have already done something about it. Wow, is this wrong! Energy is probably one of your top expenses. You already know that if you don’t manage things they usually get out of control. Is energy, one of your largest expenses, out of control? The First Energy Group can help you answer this question.

Did you know that how you use your energy affects the entire morale of the company? It affects your job turnover, your recruiting and managing costs, your productivity, the value of your facility, your sick days, your repair costs, and your ability to attract new employees. If affects the value of your facility, your ability to borrow and the air pollution around us. And, if you don’t believe us then check out the Department of Energy’s web site. Or, ask your accountant or CFO. They will likely either agree with us or tell you that this sounds like it makes sense but they just don’t know. (They are certainly capable of knowing. Once again they may be so busy doing their core competency that they may not have spent the time to think and learn about energy)

This is where The First Energy Group can really add value to you. Energy management is all we do. The First Energy Group experts are focused solely on energy management. Energy management is the core competency of The First Energy Group.

This meeting also provides another important value. You establish a relationship with an Energy Manager. Even if you don’t have a need today we know you will have energy questions in the future. Once people become aware of how prevalent energy usage affects their company we always get more questions. We are always available to help you.

Everyone at The First Energy Group is passionate about saving energy. It’s right for business and it’s right for people. Energy management is one of those incredibly few “no brainer” choices in life that is good for everyone and has no down side. There is no organization or group that says energy management is bad and so many that promote its values. The only real questions with energy management are how much, where and how. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to discuss this.
