About us Clients

The United States government spends massive amounts of money to lower the cost of energy which encourages everyone to use too much. Then, we spend massive amounts of money solving the problems caused by using too much energy - which we encouraged in the first place!

Our energy crisis (and it is a crisis) has occurred over such a long period of time and grown so enmeshed in our lives that most people accept it and don’t realize how bad it truly is. People are so programmed to ignore this problem that hardly any reader of this page will even read past this sentence!

Ok, you made it this far, maybe you will get to the bottom. But, probably not.

Consider our huge trade deficits, battles in the Middle East, air and water pollution, global warming, and nuclear power plants. No one wants any of this. Yet, through our inactions we allow it to continue.

These problem can be solved. But, only after people choose to do so. The biggest obstacle our country faces to solving our energy crisis is changing the perception of our voters. Energy is not cheap - it's just heavily subsidized. Once we get past the denial stage the solutions turn out to be fairly simple.

The United States subsidizes the cost of energy.  We do this in many ways including tax credits, subsidizing research, massive amounts of foreign aid, getting involved in oil rich parts of the world, and regulating the price we pay through our utilities.  (BOTH major political parties have allowed this to happen.)

Then, after we artificially reduce our cost of energy (which increases our demand for it) we spend massive amounts of time and money fighting its effects. Effects such as opening our national parks for oil drilling, increasing our trade deficits, budgeting for tax incentives and rebates to reduce consumption, and trying to put up new power generation facilities while arguing about how much pollution is acceptable and in whose back yard they will go.

No one would intentionally design such a distorted energy system - it has just evolved from lots of well meaning people constantly patching pieces of the problem. In any event, the important point to remember is that YOU can do something about it.
